There are a plethora of Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) for programming in Java, you may choose to use a different IDE than I use, but the one I will be demoing runs on both Mac and PC.
If we were on campus the labs would have the software we need...unfortunately, you will need to install the software onto your computer.
The software is in 2 pieces (Java JDK 14 and NetBeans 12) It is a total of 500 MB for the installation software. Once installed, the two pieces take up 1 GB of hard drive space.
In case either link is broken, this pdf shows the navigation to the download pages Downloading and Installing Java JDK 14 and NetBeans 12 - DRAFT
These "notes" are for 64-bit Windows...The software can run on the Mac, but the installation is different.
